Centrue Bank (formerly Union Bank) enlisted the services of Basalay, Cary and Alstadt when they decided to replace their existing drive up facility which was outdated functionally and aesthetically. Centrue wanted a facility that stood prominently in the downtown Ottawa landscape, and also complement and blend well with another Centrue branch office located nearby. BC&A worked closely with Centrue Bank’s facility manager, the bank equipment provider and the City of Ottawa Design Review Commission to ensure that the building, parking, flow of the drive-up traffic and landscape was in-keeping with the aesthetic values set forth by the City. The new 1,370 square foot building was positioned diagonally on the corner of the site – allowing extensive frontage on two busy downtown streets. The building includes a vestibule, two offices, a work room, space for four tellers, a break room, mechanical room and restroom. The drive-up accommodates three lanes of traffic and an ATM lane. Fifty-one parking spaces serve both the drive-up facility staff and patrons with ample additional spaces to serve their nearby branch office. In addition to Architectural services, BC&A also provided the landscape design for the site.
